Soon after I qualified from the University of the Witwatersrand with a B.Sc Town and Regional Planning and a short two years working as a town planner, I managed a game lodge in the Tuli Block of Botswana. Tuli is one of the few remaining private areas of land where there are still free roaming elephants. After a year in the Tuli wilderness, I had a short spell in an engineering consultancy in Johannesburg, then helped out on a game and cattle farm in Zimbabwe. Brian Gardner

Having grown up in the mountains of Magoebaskloof and the Wolkberg, my love for the outdoors and the environment started at a very young age. Over the years, my enjoyment of the outdoors has led me into competitive mountain biking racing, orienteering as well as participating at numerous international Adventure Races. After qualifying with a BTech in Environmental Science at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), I worked for a year as an Outdoor Education Instructor in Australia, leading groups of youth on outdoor pursuits and environmental education programs. ...
