We should not have to place a value on animals to whom values are unknown; we should be able to guarantee their freedom solely for their own sake, but man's thinking has only just begun to approach such a level of morality.

WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

Seaton Thomson & Associates are involved in a variety of conservation related issues, which have included the planning and development of the Pongola Game Reserve, northern Zululand, Kariega and Kazuko Game Reserves in the eastern Cape. During 2006, the company was appointed to undertake a detailed tourism development plan for all the identified mega conservation areas in Limpopo Province, which included the Shashe Limpopo Trans Frontier Conservation Area (TFCA), the Great Limpopo TFCA and the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve.

A further dimension of the company has been its involvement in producing wildlife documentaries, which has included the award winning feature "Kaokoveld, How Can I Tell You?". This documentary was filmed entirely on location in northern Namibia and focused on three critical conservation themes; the desert elephants, the remnant black rhino population and the nomadic Himba tribe. Several other documentaries have been produced by the company; "Cry for Africa" an internationally award winning film on the Chobe National Park in northern Botswana and "Born to be Free" a film based on the rehabilitation of George Adamson's lions in the Tuli enclave in south eastern Botswana.
