SPECIAL INTEREST TOURS TO SOUTHERN AFRICA

A major success of the company was its appointment to act as the South African agent for the American Museum of Natural History, Harvard University and the University of California for the conceptualisation, management, marketing and administration of their special interest tours to southern Africa.

The topic of these special interest tours included palaeo-anthropology - The Origins of Man Tour, wilderness and wildlife - The Best of South African Wilderness Tour and elephant and black rhino conservation - Twilight of the Giants Tour. These tours are currently operating and are scheduled through into the year 2010.

TOUR PROGRAMME
  • BORN TO BE FREE
    A special interest 14 days predator tour, lead by South Africa's conservation personalities, with specific emphasis on the dwindling lion populations of southern Africa. Destinations include the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park, the Tuli Enclave Botswana, de Wildt Cheetah Breeding Station, Pilanesberg National Park, Kruger National Park and Cape Town.

  • THE BEST OF SOUTHERN AFRICAN WILDERNESS
    A 14 day tour which will visit southern Africa's most remote wilderness areas, including Kruger National Park, Kgalagadi Trans Frontier Park, the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park and Cape Town.

  • TWILIGHT OF THE GIANTS
    A 14 day tour which will endeavour to explore the demise of black rhino and elephant in southern Africa, visiting some of southern Africa's remotest wilderness areas under the leadership of South Africa's leading conservationists. Areas to be visited include Damaraland / Kaokoveld, Chobe National Parks, Victoria Falls, Mashatu Game Reserve, Hwange National Park.

  • ORIGINS OF MANKIND
    A 14 day tour which was originally pioneered by the American Museum of Natural History in 1995. The tour investigates the early evolution of mankind in Africa, visiting internationally renowned sites such as Sterkfontein, Makapansgat, the Limpopo Valley and Klasies River.
